Q: Can I increase the height of the fireplace opening from 800mm to 1.5m?
A: The construction work should present no problems it is a fairly simple exercise.
There is an issue, however, of safety. The proposed works must not compromise the efficient working of the heating appliance.
You are strongly advised to have the work checked by a qualified heating engineer. The products of combustion must be carried away by the flue.
